Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tortiose changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jays looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jays is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tortiose's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jays is pressing down on Tortiose's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Jays is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tortiose closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jays's guard.

Jays is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jays perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Jays looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tortiose with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
