Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Split Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandre Button (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Split Rush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexandre Button! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Rush as Button shoots in. Rush tries to counter with a takedown but Button is quick to defend against it. Rush works Button's body with a nice hook. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Button has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Button tries a head kick but it misses.
Rush scores with a nice strike. Rush closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Button did well to prevent Rush getting side control. Rush working over Button with some ground and pound. Button looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Rush throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've been hearing good reports from Rush's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rush working Button over with strikes. That's one minute gone in the round. Rush is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Rush lands strikes from half guard. Button blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rush. Button tries to get to full guard but Rush has control of the leg. Nice strikes from Rush there. Rush thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Button on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Rush tries to pass to full mount but Button defends it. Rush thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Button's head. Rush is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Rush passes the guard and advances to mount! Rush is in the full mount, landing strikes. Rush landing strikes, looking to finish! The referee warns Button that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rush has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Button looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Button in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Rush is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Button can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rush looking to finish Button with some ground and pound. This is bad for Button! Rush connects with a bit shot that sees Button covering up! More strikes from Rush and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rush is our winner by TKO!
