Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Haerd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lamont Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

16 - 12 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lamont Banner!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner tries for a takedown but Haerd circles away easily
and Haerd cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Banner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Haerd's guard.
Banner is looking to stand up but Haerd won't let him.
Banner is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Banner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Haerd is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Haerd has escaped and now he's on top!
Banner is looking to cinch up a triangle. Haerd throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Banner's body to avoid the submission. Banner has instead reached around Haerd's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Banner arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Lamont Banner!
