Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoga Flame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johny Baker has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yoga Flame!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johny Baker!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flame takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Flame pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yoga Flame seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flame throws a sloppy head kick
and Baker counters with a stiff right hand.
Flame avoids a punch combination nicely.
Baker fails to land with a series of punches.
Baker connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Flame uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baker.
Flame bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Baker's head.


It looks like Johny Baker has been cut.
Flame misses with a jab to the body
and Baker counters with a leg kick.
Baker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Flame paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A left and a right from Baker both land. Nice combination.
Flame looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Flame misses with a body shot.

Baker clinches up with Flame and pushes him back against the cage.
Flame avoids a wild elbow strike from Baker.

Baker breaks from the clinch.
Baker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Baker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Baker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Flame.
Flame throws a head kick that misses.
Baker throws a series of punches but Flame avoids them all with ease.
Sloppy strikes from Baker. Those never looked like landing.
Baker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Flame throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Baker's head.

and Flame takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Johny Baker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Flame lands a lovely overhand right.

Baker is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Flame shoots in and gets a takedown into Baker's guard.
Baker is still in real trouble! Can Flame finish him?
Baker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Baker can do anything to dispel that myth.
Flame is working Baker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Flame's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flame makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Baker seems to have recovered his senses.
Flame connects with a couple of short punches.
Flame throwing strikes from guard but Baker blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baker wants to get back to his feet but Flame is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Flame thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Flame sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Baker's guard.
Baker avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Flame.
Baker is trying to stand up here but Flame is controlling him well.
Flame is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Baker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Flame. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Flame takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Flame working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Flame looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baker with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Baker keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Flame not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Baker wants to get back to full guard.
Flame sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Baker wants to control but Flame is keeping busy.
Flame is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Baker's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Flame sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Flame has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Flame landing strikes from the mount and Baker is in trouble!
Flame scoring with strikes but Baker is staying in there.
Flame has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Flame scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Flame pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Flame breaks from Baker's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Flame sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Baker is looking to improve his position but Flame isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoga Flame dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Johny Baker's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Flame moves out of range of the body kick from Baker.
Horrible takedown attempt by Flame or perhaps it was just good defense by Baker, which made it look bad.
Baker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Flame attempts a counter takedown but Baker avoids it well and moves away.
Flame throws a wild body kick that Baker sees coming a mile off.
Baker takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Flame lands with a nice body punch.
Flame closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baker circles away.
Flame pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Flame misses with a body shot.
Baker misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baker lands a jab-cross combination.
Some wild striking there from Flame.

Baker has closed the distance and engaged Flame in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baker stalling the fight.
Flame is looking to control Baker's arms but Baker gets an underhook and turns him. Now Flame has his back to the cage.
Baker is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Baker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Flame fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Baker.
Johny Baker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Baker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Baker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Flame throws a head kick but Baker moves out of range.
Flame drops his hands momentarily and Baker takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Flame takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Flame dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Flame throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Baker is breathing heavily.
Flame moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


That has opened up Johny Baker's cut even more.
Flame takes a swing at Baker's ribcage but misses.

Flame fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Baker to the ground. Flame is now in Baker's guard.
Flame pushing down on Baker's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Baker is refusing to be controlled, as Flame sits in half guard.
Flame is nestled in close to Baker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Flame lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Flame is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Baker defends it well.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Flame in particular looking to stall.
Baker looks like he's trying to stand up.

Baker is kicking away at Flame from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Flame grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Baker trying to push Flame off... Baker taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Yoga Flame!
