Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bryan Habana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Raven!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Habana tries to clinch but Raven moves away
and Raven counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Raven blocks a leg kick.
Raven tests Habana's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Habana thows a leg kick but Raven checks it
and Raven counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Raven just misses with a punch to the body.
Raven moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Habana is rocked!
Raven keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Oh Habana is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Habana misses with a head kick.
A little jabbing left from Raven on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Habana seems to have got his legs back now.
Habana cracks the inside of Raven's front leg.
A slapping leg kick lands for Raven.
Habana looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Good shot there by Raven.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Habana doesn't manage to clinch there - Raven circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Habana fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Raven looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've been told by Habana's head coaches at Brown House that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Raven cracks Habana's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Habana slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Raven can do further damage! This one is done, son!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Thomas Raven!
