30 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Marco Marcolini! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avreli throws a body shot but no joy. Marcolini lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Mark Avreli has been cut. Avreli lands a glancing blow to the side of Marcolini's head.
It looks like Marco Marcolini has been cut. Avreli avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown attempt by Avreli or perhaps it was just good defense by Marcolini, which made it look bad. Nice uppercut lands for Marcolini. That snapped Avreli's head back.
Marcolini tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Avreli was well out of range. Poor timing from Marcolini. Marcolini's coach down at Warrior Dogs was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Marcolini's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Avreli. Well Avreli has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
