Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bryan Mills!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kelvin Parker!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker walks into a straight right hand from Mills.
Mills moves out of range as Parker strikes.
And Mills counters with a quick kick to the body but Parker blocks it.
Parker throws a jab when Mills was well out of range.
Mills throws a nice outside leg kick.
Parker tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mills throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A slow jab from Mills misses its intended target.
Mills turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mills slips a straight right by Parker.
Mills throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Mills connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Parker blocks a jab.
And Parker tries to counter it with a takedown but Mills pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Parker misses with a hook. Mills ducked under it nicely.
Parker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mills stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mills, as that shot connected.

Parker takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Parker connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mills. Parker does a little dance to reset his feet.

Mills looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Parker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mills gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mills in particular looking to stall.
Mills has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Parker gets back to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mills wants to control from the top but Parker keeps moving.
Mills wants to pass the guard but Parker is keeping the position.
Parker lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mills connects with a leg kick. Parker looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Parker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mills has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mills and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mills throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Parker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Parker scores with a hook to the body. Mills takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

A little feinted left hand from Mills on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Parker chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mills can pounce on him.

Mills was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Parker has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Mills does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Parker takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Parker counters with a head kick. That will keep Mills thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Parker sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Mills lands a leg kick that knocks Parker off balance momentarily.
Mills stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mills walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Parker checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Mills goes for a double leg but Parker avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Parker continues to drive forward.
