Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sven Jergensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cornelius Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sven Jergensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cornelius Carr!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jergensen on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jergensen.
Carr connects with a single shot there.
Jergensen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carr swivels and escapes.
Carr ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jergensen shoots in and drives through. Carr sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sven Jergensen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jergensen drives through and clinches with Carr against the cage.
Carr misses with a hook from the clinch.
Jergensen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carr fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jergensen stays in close to Carr's body and controls the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Jergensen tries to clinch up but Carr circles away and keeps his distance.
Carr scores with a decent looking hook.
Carr is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Jergensen fails with the takedown.
Jergensen darts in looking for a takedown but Carr gets double underhooks and turns Jergensen into the cage.
Jergensen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carr throws out the jab.
Jergensen feinted with a counter takedown.
Carr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jergensen moves away.

Jergensen takes one on the button.
Carr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jergensen.
Jergensen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Carr finds it's way round the side to connect with Jergensen's head.
Sven Jergensen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carr lands a jab to Jergensen's midsection.
Jergensen moves in looking to clinch but Carr pushes him off.
Carr looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carr, as that shot connected.

Jergensen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jergensen tries to pass to full mount but Carr defends it.
Carr wants to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carr won't allow Jergensen to pass to mount.
Jergensen wants to take a breather but Carr is having none of it.
Carr moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jergensen tries to free his leg and advance position but Carr is retaining full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carr is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carr has control of Jergensen's left arm, preventing Jergensen from doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cornelius Carr dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jergensen tries to close the distance and clinch but Carr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carr is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Jergensen with a body shot.
Jergensen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carr swivels and escapes.
Jergensen wants to clinch.
Jergensen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jergensen moves in looking to clinch but Carr pushes him off.

and Carr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jergensen shoots for a takedown but Carr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carr let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

and Carr counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jergensen wants to clinch up but Carr keeps it at a distance.
A little jabbing left from Carr on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Jergensen has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jergensen blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Carr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jergensen.
A shot in the inside from Carr.
Jergensen is trying to drag Carr to the mat but Carr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Carr lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jergensen backwards.
Carr gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jergensen.
Carr lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Carr throws a head punch that misses.
Carr has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A left hand lands to the body for Carr.

Carr throws a punch but it's blocked by Jergensen.
Carr scores with a shoulder strike.
Jergensen wants to stall.
Carr lands with a short shot to the head.
Carr tries a body shot but Jergensen blocks it.
Carr is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Jergensen works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jergensen's guard.

Carr wants to control from the top but Jergensen keeps moving.
Carr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Carr is continuing to stall.

Jergensen wants to improve his position but instead Carr has moved into half guard.
Carr seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jergensen wants to improve his position but Carr is controlling well.
Carr with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Carr is trying to control. Jergensen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jergensen manages to get to full guard.
Jergensen wants to sweep but no luck.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jergensen holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carr throws a good cross that connects.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cornelius Carr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Jergensen shoots for a double leg takedown but Carr sprawls well. He's pushed Jergensen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jergensen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jergensen shoots in but Carr avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sven Jergensen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carr lands a big right hand that sends Jergensen crashing to the mat! Carr stays standing though and waves Jergensen back to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jergensen walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Carr! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
