Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Simons III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by All the Above- Maino ft. T-Pain. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 27 - 5, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 48 - 32 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Simons III!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Simons III.

Simons III misses with a wild body shot.

Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Simons III turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Simons III manages to end up in side control.

We've been hearing good reports from Williams's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
John Simons III has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Williams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Simons III was well out of range. Poor timing from Williams.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
