Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Latka Gravas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Cyprus Hill - Hits From the Bong. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Latka Gravas!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gravas moves out of range of the body kick.
Hunter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hunter has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hunter misses with a wild body shot.

Hunter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gravas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hunter sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gravas is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Gravas is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A bit of a lull in the action here.
Hunter in side control, throwing shots but Gravas defends.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gravas is not content to let Hunter control the position.
Hunter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gravas down.
Gravas is trying to control Hunter's posture but Hunter avoids it.
Hunter throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hunter misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Hunter taking a break here but Gravas is having none of it and regains half guard.
Gravas is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Hunter dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hunter.
Gravas let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Hunter misses with a shot to the body
and Gravas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hunter uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hunter throws a leg kick

and Gravas counters by clinching up.
Gravas throws a punch but it's blocked by Hunter.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gravas.
Hunter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gravas can do to turn this around?

Hunter tries to work over Gravas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Gravas is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Gravas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Hunter connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gravas. Gravas circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gravas on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Hunter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hunter lands in his opponent's guard.
Gravas looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Hunter chips away with some ground and pound.

Gravas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Hunter misses with a body punch.
Hunter lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gravas.
Gravas lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Hunter swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gravas misses with a punch on the inside.

Hunter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hunter throws a body shot but no joy.
Hunter misses with a body shot.
Gravas wants to counter with a clinch but Hunter pushes him away.
Hunter connects with a solid leg kick.
Hunter pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hunter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gravas was covering up waiting for the punch and Hunter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gravas wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Gravas wriggles free and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Hunter dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Hunter fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gravas to the ground. Hunter is now in Gravas's guard.
Hunter throws a big elbow that misses.
Gravas is adopting a defensive guard.
Gravas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hunter tries to free his leg and advance position but Gravas is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunter connects with a couple of short punches.
Gravas wants to stand up but Hunter is controlling him.
Hunter cracks Gravas with a solid left hand.

Hunter postures up in Gravas's guard and throws a big left but Gravas blocks it.
Gravas looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hunter works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hunter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hunter lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Gravas is rocked!
Gravas tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hunter avoids the attempt from Gravas to control.
Hunter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gravas is still in real trouble! Can Hunter finish him?
Gravas is in a horrible position here. Hunter smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hunter postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Gravas bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Hunter and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Hunter!
Our winner, Jay Hunter, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
