Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rod Stiffington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sterling Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stiffington comes into the arena with I'm Too Sexy by Right Said Fred blaring out of the sound system. Archer has chosen Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rod Stiffington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sterling Archer! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stiffington misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Archer clobbers Stiffington with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Stiffington shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Archer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Stiffington controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Archer is trying to control the position but Stiffington postures up. Stiffington trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Archer controlling Stiffington's posture. Stiffington is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Archer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Archer is taking a breather. Stiffington says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Archer trying to control from Stiffington's half guard. Stiffington has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Archer showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Stiffington controls Archer momentarily but Archer frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Archer trying to control the position from guard on top but Stiffington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stiffington has his hands on Archer's head, controlling the position. Stiffington trying to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Archer thuds a left hand into Stiffington's body. A nice leg kick lands there from Archer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stiffington walks forward, straight into a front kick from Archer. Stiffington shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Stiffington was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Archer wants to control but Stiffington postures up. Archer manages to work his way to half guard, despite Stiffington's best efforts. Archer tries to get to full guard but Stiffington has control of the leg. Stiffington trying to control the action but Archer is working from the bottom. Archer is trying to control but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Stiffington wants to free his trapped foot but Archer is holding on for dear life with his legs. Archer desperately trying to maintain half guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Stiffington wants to work for an arm triangle but Archer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Archer wants to control but Stiffington is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! No luck for Stiffington with that takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Sterling Archer will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Archer lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Archer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stiffington feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Archer has an active guard here but Stiffington has managed to pass into half guard.
Stiffington wants to free his trapped foot but Archer is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stiffington works his foot free and advances to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Archer is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stiffington quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Stiffington but it's paid off an Archer is forced to tap! Nice work by Stiffington.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rod Stiffington! Rod Stiffington was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. Sterling Archer was interviewed post fight and said 'Wait, ... What?'.
