The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Con misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Weston.

It looks like King Con has been cut. Con misses the shot to the body. Con stuns Weston with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Con throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been informed that Weston has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Con throws a shot from downtown. Weston moves away and avoids it. Weston is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Con throws a body punch but Weston moves out of range. Weston tries to counter with a clinch but Con shakes him off and moves away. That kick from Weston tenderised Con's leg. Con is trying to keep his angry face on. Weston ducks under a wild hook from Con. Weston tries to counter by closing the distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Con misses. Con scores with a jab. Weston acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Sloppy strikes from Weston. Those never looked like landing. As Weston looks to move away, Con throws a big counter combo bu Weston just gets out of the way. Con misses with a lunging right hand
and Weston counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Con is trying to maintain a safe position but Weston gets an underhook and turns Con into the cage.

Con is trying to force a seperation but Weston has the dominant position. A frustrated look appears on Con's face as he tries to break the clinch. Con has had enough of the clinch but Weston keeps him there for the moment. Con is working Weston over against the cage. Weston gets through Con's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. I was talking to Con's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Con is looking to score with knees to the body. A short left from Weston. A nice right hand lands inside from Weston. Con trying to control the position but instead, Weston has worked for underhooks and has pushed Con into the cage. Con blocks an uppercut.

A short left from Weston. Con lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Weston lands an uppercut. Nice body punch from Con - that landed with a thud.
Con is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Con lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Weston backwards. Still in the clinch, Weston scores with a nice short uppercut.
King Con's cut is getting worse. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Weston swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Weston drops Con onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Con is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Con is rocked! Weston throws a head punch that misses. Oh Con is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Weston stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Con is breathing heavily. Con's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
That's three minutes gone in the round. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Weston creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Weston misses with the head strike.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Con. Con tries to work over Weston's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Weston lands a big right hand that drops Con! The killer instinct kicks in and Weston finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Weston!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Weston! Matt Weston bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
