Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronald McDonald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Constantine Kermit! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kermit cracks McDonald with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. McDonald throws a leg kick and Kermit connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. McDonald misses with a straight left. Kermit wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. A good leg kick by Kermit. Kermit blocks a head kick by McDonald.
A telegraphed right hand from Kermit misses the target. McDonald seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. McDonald goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Good exchange - Kermit coming out on top. Constantine Kermit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kermit fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McDonald looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Kermit pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kermit has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. McDonald looks to land a body kick but Kermit moved away. McDonald definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kermit cracks McDonald with an open hand slap. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kermit cracks McDonald with an open hand slap. Kermit moves out of range of the strikes. A looping hook to the body misses from McDonald. Kermit does a little dance to reset his feet. A countering left hand to the body from Kermit misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kermit throws a series of punches but McDonald moves out of range. As Kermit tries to get set, McDonald tries to push him back and clinch up but Kermit manages to avoid the attempt. Kermit moves out of range of the body kick. McDonald ducks right into an uppercut from Kermit. McDonald checks a leg kick. Kermit wants to slow McDonald down by chopping away at his legs. McDonald cracks the inside of Kermit's front leg. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kermit.
Kermit uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McDonald. Kermit connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. McDonald on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Kermit lands a glancing blow to the side of McDonald's head. Kermit throws an uppercut from half a mile away. McDonald sees it coming and avoids it easily. McDonald tries to counter by clinching up but Kermit breaks away and moves out of range. Nice body kick from McDonald. McDonald wants to land a leg kick but Kermit is out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Kermit, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A kick lands to the mid section there for Kermit. Kermit lunges at McDonald with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by McDonald's hand. Kermit scores with a jab to the jaw.
McDonald is rocked! Kermit cracks McDonald with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! McDonald falls to his knees and Kermit doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Constantine Kermit!
