Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Timo Vesala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hae Ki Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vesala's entrance music is Bomfunk MC's - Freestyler. A fine choice. Hae Ki Park told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Timo Vesala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hae Ki Park! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Park throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Vesala seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Vesala manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Park on his heels. He'll look to pass Park's guard now, I'm sure. Park working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vesala doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vesala manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Vesala looking to pass the guard. Vesala trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Vesala looking to pass the guard. Vesala advances position into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vesala thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Vesala is trying to get an arm triangle but Park is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vesala is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Park is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Vesala working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The strikes coming from Vesala are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Vesala tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vesala has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Vesala is trying to get an arm triangle but Park is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Park is trying to improve his position. Park wants to control but Vesala postures up. Vesala tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vesala has let go of the choke. That's three minutes gone in the round. Vesala is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Park has escaped the position, nice work there. Vesala wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Park, who protects the arm well. Vesala taking a break here but Park is having none of it and regains half guard. Vesala is stalling here. Park is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Vesala seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Park has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Park trying to control the position but Vesala is working away. Vesala sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vesala tries to get to full guard but Park has control of the leg. Vesala looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Park trying to pass the guard but Vesala defending well. Park wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vesala keeps working. Park decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vesala moves out of range of the strikes. Vesala wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Park moves out of range as Vesala strikes. A head kick misses from Park. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Timo Vesala dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Park lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Vesala listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Vesala works Park's body with a nice hook. A jab from Park misses. Vesala is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Park can do to turn this around? Park uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vesala. Park throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vesala stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Vesala lands with a straight right. Park didn't see that one coming. Park drops his hands momentarily and Vesala takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Vesala misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Park tries to land a front kick but Vesala steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Vesala is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Park. Vesala misses with a body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vesala shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Park counters with a body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Vesala misses the target. Park throws a head kick that misses. Vesala takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Park slips under a jab. Park misses with a head kick.
Park lands a jab to Vesala's midsection. Park ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vesala moves away. Park uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vesala. Park bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Park lands with a nice body kick. Vesala connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Park connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Vesala takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Park looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Vesala throws an overhand right that lands on Park's shoulder, as Park tries to avoid the shot. Park clobbers Vesala with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Park fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vesala jabs Park to the body, keeping him at a distance. Vesala works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Park throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Park lands with a hook. Vesala tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Vesala misses with an uppercut. Park saw that one coming. Vesala lands with a right hand. Vesala works Park's body with a nice hook. Park looks to score with a jab to the body but Vesala is just out of range. Vesala throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hae Ki Park is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body kick from Park. Vesala throws a hook but Park blocks it. Park misses with a body shot.
Park thuds a left hand into Vesala's body. Vesala digs a good body shot into Park's ribs. Vesala digs a good body shot into Park's ribs. Park defending well as Vesala loads up on a big left hand. Vesala avoids the head kick by Park.
Park waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vesala. Hae Ki Park seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Park throws a half hearted mid kick. Vesala lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Park at a distance.
Vesala has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timo Vesala. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Park throws out a leg kick but Vesala moves out of range and Park only half commits. Park has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Nice uppercut lands for Park. That snapped Vesala's head back.
Hae Ki Park seems to be getting the better of the standup. Park cracks a nice hook into Vesala's ribs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vesala lands with a nice body punch. Vesala throws a body shot but no joy. Vesala fails with an attempt to clinch.
Park gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Park feints and then cracks Vesala's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vesala down. Vesala throws a body punch but Park moves out of range. Vesala lands with a right hand. Vesala takes one to the side of the head.
Donk. Vesala catches Park right on the button with a cross. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Park circles away from the clinch attempt and Park counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hae Ki Park showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Park cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Vesala fails with a takedown attempt. Vesala shoots for a double leg takedown but Park sprawls well. He's pushed Vesala's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Vesala throws a series of strikes that have Park backpedaling.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Park throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Park misses with a body kick. A big right from Vesala misses. Vesala throws out a loose jab but Park uses good head movement to avoid it. A little jabbing left from Park on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Vesala throws a lazy right hand but Park sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Park takes a shot right to the bread basket. Park throws a wild body kick that Vesala sees coming a mile off. Nice defenses there by Vesala. Vesala fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timo Vesala. That's going to take a lot out of him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vesala wants to pass the guard but Park is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vesala works his way into full mount! Park keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Timo Vesala showed his dominance in that final round. I think Vesala has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
