PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zoran Jolevi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Brooks might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 2nd Sucks - A Day To Remember. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks fails with a takedown attempt.
Brooks shoots in for a takedown but Jolevi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Brooks throws a front kick aimed at Jolevi's knee but Jolevi avoids it well.
Jolevi has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Brooks is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jolevi works Brooks's body with a nice hook.
Jolevi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Brooks doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brooks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brooks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The GYM (20 elite coaches on the Island !!!) in the buildup to the fight.

Brooks clinches up with Jolevi and pushes him back against the cage.
Jolevi lands with a left to the head.
Brooks wants to get back to striking at distance but Jolevi won't allow it.
Jolevi lands a body shot.
Brooks is looking to take this one to the mat.
Jolevi can't find room to land a body shot as Brooks controls the action.

Brooks is looking to control Jolevi's arms but Jolevi gets an underhook and turns him. Now Brooks has his back to the cage.

Jolevi drops Brooks onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Brooks is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Brooks is rocked!
Jolevi dips a shoulder and cracks Brooks with a mighty uppercut! Brooks falls back against the cage and Jolevi unloads with a barrage of strikes! Brooks is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Jolevi screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zoran Jolevi!
Zoran Jolevi tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
In defeat, Calvin Brooks stepped up to the mic, saying 'He was the better man tonight. I'll come back better than ever next time. Sorry, guys.'.
