Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Rico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Moldoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moldoon has chosen Heaven Nor Hell as his entrance music. Johnny Rico has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Rico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chuck Moldoon!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Moldoon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Moldoon has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Moldoon misses with a double jab.
Rico throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moldoon's waist but Moldoon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rico off to one side.
Rico lands with a nice body punch.
Rico feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rico wants to control from the top but Moldoon keeps moving.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rico lands a nice short elbow.
Rico is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Moldoon doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rico.
Rico wants to control but Moldoon is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rico connects with a nice short shot to Moldoon's temple.
Moldoon wants to sweep but Rico has passed to side control!

Rico cracks Moldoon with a big elbow.
Rico is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moldoon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Moldoon is not content to let Rico control the position.
Moldoon is looking to regain half guard here but Rico keeps moving and retains side control.

Rico tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Rico looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Moldoon sneaks back into half guard.
Rico wants to free his trapped foot but Moldoon is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rico is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Moldoon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rico is working away from the top position though.

Rico is trying to control. Moldoon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Rico has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Moldoon is trying to get back to full guard.

Rico thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Rico has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Moldoon defend it? Rico steps over the head and cranks it - Moldoon is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rico!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Johnny Rico!
A relieved looking Johnny Rico thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
