PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robbo Audi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian Robertson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robertson lands an overhand right.
Audi misses with an attempted mid kick.
Robertson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Audi's hands.
Danga de danga de dang - Robertson scores with a four punch combination!
Robertson misses with a wild combination.
Audi with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A jab from Robertson does it's job there.
Robbo Audi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Audi misses with a body kick.
Robertson tests Audi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Robertson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Audi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Audi throws a sloppy head kick and Robertson moves out of range easily.
Audi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Audi there as he acknowledges the shot.
Audi shoots in looking for a takedown. Robertson tries to sprawl out of it but Audi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Robertson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Audi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Audi tries to counter with a takedown but Robertson is quick to defend against it.
Robertson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Robertson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Robertson feints a jab promting Audi to slip. Robertson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Audi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Robertson lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Audi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Robertson. Robertson obviously looking to wear him down.
Audi tries to clinch but Robertson moves out of range.
Robertson stuns Audi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Robertson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Robertson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Audi under the eye.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Robertson throws a solid leg kick but Audi takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Robertson.
Audi went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Audi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Robertson as he avoids it easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Audi.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robbo Audi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Robertson connects with a body shot.
Audi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Audi throws a leg kick
letting Robertson counter with a right hand.
Audi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Robertson finds it's way round the side to connect with Audi's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Audi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little jabbing left from Robertson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Audi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Robertson's waist but Robertson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Audi off to one side.
Nice cross by Robertson.
Audi needs to keep his hands up - Robertson had a free shot at his head there.
Audi gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Audi throws a lazy head kick
and Robertson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Audi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Robertson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Audi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Audi tries to land a body kick
and Robertson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Audi throws a leg kick
and Robertson counters with a series of strikes. Audi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Robertson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Audi closes the distance but Robertson moves to the side
enabling Robertson to counter with a crisp jab.

Audi is rocked!
Robertson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Oh Audi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Audi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Robertson drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Audi right on the button. Audi goes down! Robertson follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Robertson gets the win via TKO!
