PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renato Bray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Briscow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lee Briscow was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Renato Bray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lee Briscow!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briscow tries to clinch there but Bray circles away.
Briscow fails to land with a series of punches.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Briscow has eaten all the pies!
Briscow throws a body shot but no joy.

Briscow gets a double leg takedown into Bray's guard.
Briscow is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Bray keeping moving, preventing Briscow from controlling successfully.

Bray working for submissions but it's allowed Briscow to get to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Briscow content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Bray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Briscow on the ground.
Briscow trying to control the action but Bray is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Briscow not doing much here.

Bray is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Briscow pulls his head out easily.
Briscow with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bray tries to roll over but Briscow keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Briscow seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Bray actively working from the bottom here.
Briscow content to control rather than advance.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bray ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bray appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Briscow gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bray being controlled here momentarily.

Briscow is trying to keep Bray in close.
Bray won't allow Briscow to sweep him here.
Bray trying to control the position from guard on top but Briscow is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bray has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bray is stalling in the full guard.
Briscow is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Briscow keeping moving, preventing Bray from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Briscow shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bray's guard.
Briscow is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Briscow postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Briscow distracts Bray with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bray keeping moving, preventing Briscow from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Briscow dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Briscow shoots in and bounces Bray off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bray throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Briscow drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Briscow jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bray escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Briscow gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bray working for a triangle but Briscow defends it easily.
Bray will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Briscow passes Bray's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Briscow is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bray!
Briscow has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Briscow lands a big elbow.
Briscow lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Briscow in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Briscow lands a big elbow - Bray is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Bray is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Lee Briscow!
