Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimi Powell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Dingerballs! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dingerballs throws a right hand that Powell ducks under and follows up with a left that Powell also avoids with ease. Powell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Dingerballs looks for a takedown but Powell sprawls well. A little feinted left hand from Powell on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Powell works the jab nicely. Dingerballs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Powell defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dingerballs misses with a lunging right hand
and Powell counters with a nice right hand that sends Dingerballs toppling to the canvas! Dingerballs scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Powell finish him?! Mike Dingerballs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Powell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dingerballs closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Powell quickly recovers to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powell is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dingerballs scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Powell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dingerballs trying to control the action but Powell is working from the bottom. Dingerballs is trying to work for a kimura but Powell is defending well.
Dingerballs is trying to control the action in half guard but Powell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dingerballs not doing much here.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Powell looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Powell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Dingerballs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Powell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jimi Powell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Dingerballs. Dingerballs closes the distance looking to clinch and Powell counters with a huge right that knocks Dingerballs out cold! Powell is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jimi Powell! An out of breath Jimi Powell thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. In defeat, Mike Dingerballs stepped up to the mic, saying 'Guess Im going back to babysitting'.
