Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Albert Cocher!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cocher forces Williams back against the cage and clinches.
Williams is trying to break the clinch but Cocher has him pressed against the cage.
Cocher is trying to drag Williams to the mat but Williams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
A frustrated look appears on Cocher's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cocher wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Williams has him pressed against the cage.
Cocher looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cocher jumps guard but Williams turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Cocher wants to break the clinch but can't.
Williams keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cocher's efforts to push away.
Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Cocher missing with knees to the body.

Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck for Cocher with that takedown attempt.
Joey Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Albert Cocher.
Cocher takes a swing at Williams's ribcage but misses.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cocher as he avoids it easily.

Williams clinches up with Cocher and pushes him back against the cage.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Williams as Cocher tries to tie him up.
Cocher wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Williams will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Cocher up against the cage.
Cocher tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Williams just stands there and leans against the cage.

Williams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cocher looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Cocher punishes Williams's body with a nice straight punch.
Cocher slips a jab and a cross from Williams.
Cocher throws a counter combo.
Cocher darts in looking for a takedown but Williams gets double underhooks and turns Cocher into the cage.
Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Cocher, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cocher looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well.
Williams tries to counter with a takedown but Cocher is quick to defend against it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Williams or perhaps it was just good defense by Cocher, which made it look bad.
Cocher rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Williams moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Williams misses the shot to the body.
Williams tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cocher manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Cocher closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Williams just leaning against Cocher, taking a breather.

Cocher pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Williams tries to clinch there but Cocher circles away.

Williams closes the distance and pushes Cocher back into the cage.
Cocher has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Williams is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

That was a close round but I would say that Joey Williams will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Williams throws a series of punches but Cocher moves out of range.

Cocher has taken the fight to the clinch.
Williams prevents a takedown attempt there.
Cocher is trying to break the clinch but Williams is controlling him.

Cocher's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Williams gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Cocher tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Williams just stands there and leans against the cage.

Williams bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cocher's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cocher working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Williams.
Cocher is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Williams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Cocher throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Williams throws a big elbow that misses.
Cocher utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cocher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams postures up in Cocher's guard and throws a big left but Cocher blocks it.

Cocher is working an open guard so Williams takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Williams throws an overhand right that lands on Cocher's shoulder, as Cocher tries to avoid the shot.

Williams drives through and clinches with Cocher against the cage.
Cocher tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Williams just stands there and leans against the cage.
The referee calls for Williams to work.

Cocher tries to score a body lock takedown but Williams shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Cocher is breathing heavily.
Williams holding his opponent close, against the cage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Williams wants to break the clinch but can't.
Williams prevents the takedown attempt.
Cocher is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well.
Cocher trying to land knees to the body.
Cocher is trying to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Williams breaks the clinch.
Cocher throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease.
Williams dives in and grabs Cocher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cocher pushes down on Williams's head and hops out.
Cocher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Williams clinches up against the cage.

Cocher is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

That's time! Williams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cocher closes the distance and pushes Williams back into the cage.
Cocher can't get the takedown.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Cocher is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well.

Williams is pushing Cocher up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Williams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Albert Cocher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Cocher moves into range and clinches up with Williams.
Cocher is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Williams is keeping busy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Williams stalling.
Williams lands a nice uppercut.

Cocher manages to break the clinch.
Cocher shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Cocher closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Williams quickly recovers to half guard.
Cocher takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Williams trying to control from the bottom.
Williams is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cocher is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Williams is trying to stand up here but Cocher is controlling him well.
Williams is concentrating on defense, preventing Cocher from advancing position.
Williams tries to roll over but Cocher keeps him under control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nice takedown defense from Cocher. No joy for Williams on that attempt.

Williams clinches up with Cocher and pushes him back against the cage.
Williams can't find room to land a body shot as Cocher controls the action.

Cocher tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Williams smiles and moves away.
Cocher looks to score with a jab to the body but Williams is just out of range.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cocher.
Williams half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Williams moves into the clinch.
Cocher drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Cocher jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Cocher gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Williams moves into the clinch.
Albert Cocher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joey Williams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Williams prevents a takedown attempt there.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joey Williams.
Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
