Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nigel McHughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seyran Zeynalabdinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McHughes comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome To My Hood. Zeynalabdinov has chosen Saku as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nigel McHughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Seyran Zeynalabdinov! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zeynalabdinov shoots in for a double leg but McHughes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Zeynalabdinov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. McHughes jabs Zeynalabdinov to the body, keeping him at a distance. Zeynalabdinov throws a big shot that misses. McHughes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zeynalabdinov manages to avoid it. Zeynalabdinov shoots in and gets a takedown into McHughes's guard. McHughes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Zeynalabdinov preventing the sweep. Zeynalabdinov trying to control the position from guard on top but McHughes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zeynalabdinov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Zeynalabdinov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McHughes keeping moving, preventing Zeynalabdinov from controlling successfully. McHughes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zeynalabdinov's guard. McHughes looking to pass the guard. Zeynalabdinov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McHughes is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. McHughes is fighting to break Zeynalabdinov's control of his arms but Zeynalabdinov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Zeynalabdinov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Zeynalabdinov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zeynalabdinov is looking for a triangle but McHughes pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McHughes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Zeynalabdinov trying to control the position.
McHughes stands and throws Zeynalabdinov's legs to the side, diving into side control. Zeynalabdinov can't do much from the bottom here. Sloppy strikes there by McHughes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zeynalabdinov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McHughes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. You can see the frustration on Zeynalabdinov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. McHughes slips a jab and a cross from Zeynalabdinov.
McHughes appears to be looking for a big counter. McHughes wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Zeynalabdinov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zeynalabdinov throws a nice outside leg kick. McHughes waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Zeynalabdinov. McHughes lands with a shot to the body. Zeynalabdinov jabbing away but nothing is landing. Zeynalabdinov thumps McHughes with a low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zeynalabdinov throws a leg kick but McHughes sees it coming and checks it nicely. Zeynalabdinov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Zeynalabdinov is working to tighten his grip on McHughes's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. McHughes has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Zeynalabdinov is really squeezing tight and eventually McHughes passes out! Zeynalabdinov breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Seyran Zeynalabdinov! A determined Seyran Zeynalabdinov didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
