Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny McKein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Friedrich Dieter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Friedrich Dieter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny McKein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Friedrich Dieter!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McKein tries to sprawl but Dieter drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dieter is pressing down on McKein's thigh, looking to free his foot. McKein is holding on for now.
Dieter is controlling the pace.
Dieter is looking to advance position but McKein won't allow it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! McKein crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dieter - the referee stops the clock and McKein gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dieter. McKein manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Dieter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dieter showed some decent athleticism there.
Dieter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

McKein keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dieter slips a nice elbow through McKein's hands, connecting with McKein's forehead.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dieter misses with a head shot. McKein uses the momentum to regain guard.
McKein is breathing heavily.
Dieter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Dieter gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dieter takes the fight into the clinch.

Dieter has McKein pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dieter pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending McKein tumbling to the mat - Dieter dives into McKein's guard.
McKein can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dieter controls the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dieter stands and throws McKein's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McKein misses with a combination

and Dieter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McKein's guard.

Dieter striking off his back but it's not causing McKein any problems.
Dieter seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Dieter wants to sweep here but McKein controlling him for the moment.

Dieter has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes McKein off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
McKein connects with the punch.
McKein lands with an uppercut that bounces Dieter off the cage and back into range.
A nice combination there by Dieter.
Dieter throws a series of punches but McKein moves out of range.
McKein's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dieter under the eye.
McKein throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dieter.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dieter gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Dieter throws an elbow that misses. McKein uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dieter's guard. Nice move by McKein!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dieter pulls McKein in close to prevent any damage.

Dieter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dieter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McKein is aware though and is defending well.

Dieter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McKein doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McKein manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dieter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dieter is nestled in close to McKein, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dieter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dieter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Dieter throws some wild stikes that McKein manages to avoid easily.
Dieter cracks McKein with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Dieter throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for McKein because Dieter loaded up on that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Friedrich Dieter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Dieter closes the distance and clinches.

Dieter is trying to trip McKein. He has hold of a leg but McKein is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dieter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Dieter is working McKein over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Dieter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McKein swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dieter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

McKein gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dieter stands up over McKein, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Friedrich Dieter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Dieter distracts McKein with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Friedrich Dieter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Let's hope that Dieter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dieter blocks a jab.
McKein misses with a hook.

Dieter darts in and clinches McKein up against the cage.

Dieter manages to pull guard.
Dieter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Dieter lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Dieter throws a strike but McKein rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dieter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McKein's guard.

Dieter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Friedrich Dieter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Dieter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
