The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edgerton cracks Emerson with an open hand slap. Edgerton throws a right and a left that Emerson avoids nicely. Edgerton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Emerson's half guard. Emerson is staying active underneath Edgerton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Emerson tries to roll over but Edgerton keeps him under control. Edgerton is trying to control the action in half guard but Emerson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. It looks like Edgerton is going to stand back up.
Emerson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Edgerton is working away from the top position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Emerson looks like he's trying to stand up.

He must have been on the weights. Emerson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Edgerton tries to bum rush Emerson with a series of wild strikes but Emerson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Emerson slips a jab and a cross from Edgerton.

Edgerton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Emerson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Emerson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Edgerton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Edgerton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Edgerton wants to stand but Emerson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Christopher Edgerton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Emerson moves forwards but Edgerton connects with a nice, crisp jab. Edgerton displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Christopher Edgerton seems to be getting the better of the standup. Edgerton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Emerson tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edgerton stands up and beckons Emerson to his feet. Edgerton shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Emerson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Edgerton is breathing heavily. Edgerton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Emerson, up you get! Edgerton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Emerson was covering up waiting for the punch and Edgerton finishes the takedown easily into guard. Edgerton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Edgerton stopping the sweep attempt from Emerson. Emerson has his feet on Edgerton's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Edgerton looks to land a body kick but Emerson moved away.

Emerson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Edgerton is looking for a sweep. Emerson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Emerson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Edgerton defending well though. Emerson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Well, if Emerson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Emerson gets tackled into the cage by Edgerton. Edgerton maintains the clinch. Edgerton tries to circle away but Emerson has him pinned against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Edgerton's face as he tries to break the clinch. Edgerton is pressed up against the cage. Emerson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Edgerton down to the mat. Edgerton avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Edgerton closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Emerson did well to prevent Edgerton getting side control. Edgerton stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Emerson to get to his feet. Edgerton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Edgerton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emerson. And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Edgerton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Edgerton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
