Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thurgood Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Rivas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins comes to the cage accompanied by Mary Jane. Rivas is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cypress Hill-Insane in the Membrane. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Rivas!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jenkins.
Jenkins scores with a jab to the jaw.
Jenkins chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rivas has closed the distance and engaged Jenkins in a clinch.
Jenkins gets underhooks to prevent Rivas's takedown attempt.
A frustrated look appears on Rivas's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jenkins throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rivas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jenkins smiles and moves away.
Rivas scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Rivas misses with a few strikes there.
Rivas takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rivas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jenkins circles away.
Jenkins drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rivas sprawls and moves away.
Thurgood Jenkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oscar Rivas.
Jenkins closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rivas's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rivas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jenkins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rivas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jenkins defends well.

Jenkins sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rivas's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jenkins is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Well, if Jenkins is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rivas wants to get back to full guard but Jenkins has mounted him!

Jenkins unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Rivas wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Jenkins celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

After winning the bout, Thurgood Jenkins thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
