Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marty Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Freeman! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Peterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Freeman distracts Peterson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Freeman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peterson has momentary wrist control but Freeman slips an elbow through the middle. Freeman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Freeman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Peterson's head. That's four minutes gone in the round. Freeman is landing with some decent strikes but Peterson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Freeman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Peterson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Peterson tries to hold on but Freeman pushes him away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Freeman lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Freeman is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Freeman has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Peterson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Freeman is nestled in close to Peterson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Nate Freeman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
