The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson tries for a takedown but Pending circles away easily
and Pending counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ferguson won't be happy with that.
Pending looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Pending swings around for an armbar but Ferguson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pending's guard.
Ferguson drops back looking for a leg! Pending is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pending manages to kick Ferguson off! Ferguson jumps back into Pending's guard.
Ferguson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ferguson is pushing down on Pending's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pending is fighting to maintain full guard but Ferguson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Ferguson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've been hearing good reports from Ferguson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Ferguson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Pending defend it? Ferguson steps over the head and cranks it - Pending is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Ferguson!
