Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pillow Hands!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles Richmond!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hands tries to clinch there but Richmond circles away.
Richmond is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hands with a body shot.
Hands tries to close the distance and clinch but Richmond swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Richmond swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hands tries to close the distance and clinch up but Richmond swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Richmond avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Richmond! But no joy.

Hands clinches.
Richmond throws a punch but it's blocked by Hands.
Hands misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Richmond breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hands walks into a stiff left hand from Richmond.
Richmond works Hands's body with a nice hook.

Hands closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Richmond blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Richmond throws a punch but it's blocked by Hands.
Hands takes a shot to the head.
Hands lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Hands goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hands misses with some punches.

Richmond breaks from the clinch.

Hands fails in his attempt to clinch.
Richmond throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hands looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Richmond throws a series of punches but Hands moves out of range.
Hands moves in looking to clinch but Richmond pushes him off.
Richmond bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hands's head.
Richmond looks to land a right hand but Hands moved out of range.
Richmond slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hands wants to clinch.
Hands is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Richmond doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Richmond lands with a good body shot.

The fight stays on the outside here - Hands looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
It seemed like Richmond was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Hands wants to clinch up but Richmond keeps it at a distance.
Hands moves out of range of the strikes.
Hands tries to counter by clinching up but Richmond breaks away and moves out of range.
Richmond connects with a crisp jab.
Hands tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Richmond circles away from the clinch attempt
and Richmond counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hands gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Richmond.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Richmond cracks Hands with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hands is looking to clinch.

Richmond lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Richmond working hard to break the clinch.
Richmond throws a head punch that misses.
Richmond blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Richmond throws a punch but it's blocked by Hands.
Hands lands with a left to the head.

Richmond escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hands tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Richmond to counter with a crisp jab.
Hands tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Richmond swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Hands closes the distance and clinches.
Richmond is trying to break free.
Richmond doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Richmond lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Richmond scores with a shot to the side of Hands's head.
A right hook to the body lands for Richmond.

Richmond lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Richmond lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Hands tries a body shot but Richmond blocks it.
A right handed body shot lands from Hands.
Richmond throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Hands looking to throw knees to the head but Richmond is blocking nicely.
Hands is breathing heavily.
Hands wants a takedown.

Richmond lands a right hand that snaps the head of Hands backwards.
A short left from Richmond.


Hands is rocked!

Richmond's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Oh Hands is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hands fails with an attempt to clinch.
Richmond drops Hands with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Hands! Richmond dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Richmond!

Charles Richmond seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
