And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Gideon Gabriel!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel misses the jab.
Campbell throws a head kick that misses.
Gabriel has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Campbell.
Campbell misses with a body kick.
Campbell throws a front kick aimed at Gabriel's knee but Gabriel avoids it well.

Campbell closes the distance and pushes Gabriel back into the cage.
Campbell is trying to maintain a safe position but Gabriel gets an underhook and turns Campbell into the cage.

Campbell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Gabriel to keep the fight standing.
The referee is keeping an eye on Campbell - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Gabriel throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Campbells head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Campbell unloads a knee to the mid-section. Gabriel lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Gabriel is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Campbell can't fight it off and eventually Gabriel manages to take the fight to the floor. Campbell looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Campbell has momentary wrist control but Gabriel slips an elbow through the middle.

Campbell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gabriel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Campbell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Campbell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gabriel defends well.
Campbell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gabriel controls the pace.

Campbell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gabriel defends it easily.

Gabriel gets to his feet and stands over Campbell, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Campbell felt that one! Gabriel unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Campbell from any more punishment!
