Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Landon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard McConomy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landon scores with a takedown into McConomy's guard.
Landon won't allow McConomy to get back to his feet.
McConomy controls Landon momentarily but Landon frees himself.
Landon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Landon drops back looking for a leg! McConomy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McConomy manages to kick Landon off! Landon jumps back into McConomy's guard.
McConomy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Landon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Landon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McConomy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Landon. McConomy shrugs it off though.
McConomy stuffs the takedown attempt from Landon. Landon gets slowly back to his feet.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - McConomy has eaten all the pies!
McConomy is looking to clinch.
McConomy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Landon manages to work his way to half guard, despite McConomy's best efforts.
Landon is refusing to be controlled, as McConomy sits in half guard.

Landon is breathing heavily.
Landon has his foot on McConomy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McConomy works his way back into a safe position though.

McConomy is pushing down on Landon's leg trying to pass to half guard. Landon is fighting to maintain full guard but McConomy has managed to sneak the leg through.

McConomy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Landon keeps working.
McConomy is working for a submission of some sort.

McConomy is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Landon is trying to get back to full guard.
McConomy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McConomy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
McConomy slips a nice elbow through Landon's hands, connecting with Landon's forehead.

A close round but Richard McConomy will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
McConomy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McConomy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Landon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Landon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McConomy tries a head kick but it misses.

Nice takedown defense from Landon. No joy for McConomy on that attempt.
Landon shoots in and bounces McConomy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Landon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McConomy's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Landon wants to pass the guard but McConomy is keeping the position.

McConomy is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McConomy shoots for a double leg takedown but Landon sprawls well. He's pushed McConomy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jim Landon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard McConomy.

and McConomy counters with a nice uppercut.
McConomy is looking to clinch.
McConomy closes the distance and clinches up with Landon, looking for a takedown. McConomy pushes Landon against the cage but Landon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Landon shoots for a double leg takedown but McConomy sprawls well. He's pushed Landon's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

McConomy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
McConomy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Landon will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Landon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McConomy is fending him off so far but Landon persists. Nope, McConomy circles away and we're back to standing.

and McConomy counters with a shoot takedown. Landon fights it but they end up in guard.

McConomy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

McConomy has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Landon defend it? McConomy steps over the head and cranks it - Landon is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for McConomy!
