Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between George Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Socrates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Socrates will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Christ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Socrates! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Christ closes this distance looking for a takedown but Socrates circles away. Christ bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Christ closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Socrates's guard. Christ prevents Socrates from getting back to his feet. Christ is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Christ drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Christ jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Christ thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Christ postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Socrates is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Christ, into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christ is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Socrates defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Christ is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Socrates rolls with it to try and escape but Christ cranks on the arm and Socrates is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). George Christ! An out of breath George Christ thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
