The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gatmaitan fails with the takedown
and Faulkner counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Faulkner gets caught napping as Gatmaitan dives in and scores a takedown. Faulkner manages to retain guard.
Faulkner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gatmaitan is one step ahead there.
Faulkner wants to stand and escape but Gatmaitan is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Faulkner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gatmaitan.
Gatmaitan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Faulkner swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gatmaitan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gatmaitan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gatmaitan works to advance to full mount. Faulkner defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Gatmaitan postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Faulkner is out cold - huge knockout for Gatmaitan!
