Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Granville Hines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Herzig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herzig has chosen Deconstruction as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Herzig with that takedown attempt.
Herzig closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hines counters with a big head kick but Herzig shrugs it off.

Herzig wants to clinch up but Hines keeps it at a distance.

and Hines counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hines defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Herzig.

Herzig decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hines is controlling Herzig's trapped leg to prevent Herzig from advancing to side control.

Hines has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hines is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Herzig is aware though and is defending well.
Hines is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Hines wants to stand but Herzig is controlling the position.
Herzig must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Herzig drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hines dives on top into guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Herzig controls Hines momentarily but Hines frees himself.

Hines misses with a takedown attempt - Herzig sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Herzig shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hines pinned against the cage. Hines gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Hines counters with a head kick. That will keep Herzig thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Herzig fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hines avoids it really well and circles away.

Herzig looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hines is fending him off so far but Herzig persists. Nope, Hines circles away and we're back to standing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Herzig shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hines as he avoids it easily.

Hines shoots in and bounces Herzig off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Herzig wants to hit a switch here but Hines passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Herzig there!

Hines lands a big elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hines prevents Herzig from getting the reversal.
Hines lands a nice shot to the head.
BOOM! Hines connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Hines tries to land knees in the clinch but Herzig avoids the damage to the body.

Herzig stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Hines throws up his legs and catches Herzig in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Herzig tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Hines! That came out of nowhere!
