2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Maier! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maier gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Maier unloads a knee to the mid-section. Parsons lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Maier with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Rocco Parsons has been cut. Maier slows down the pace here.
Parsons is trying to pull guard but Maier has him pressed against the cage. Maier jumps guard and drags Parsons to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Parsons throwing strikes but missing. Maier seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parsons is fighting to break Maier's control of his arms but Maier is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maier is on top in guard.
Parsons is trying to control the position but Maier postures up. Maier trying to control but Parsons is working from the bottom. Parsons preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Maier slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Maier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Parsons utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Maier controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Nice sprawl there from Maier as Parsons shoots in. Parsons avoids the head kick by Maier.
As Maier looks to move away, Parsons throws a big counter combo bu Maier just gets out of the way.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Maier tries to clinch but Parsons is having none of it. Maier connects with a high kick. Maier throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Parsons's waist but Parsons gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maier off to one side. Parsons gets a double leg takedown into Maier's guard. Parsons wants to stand but Maier is controlling his posture from full guard. Parsons is looking to work some ground and pound but Maier has wrist control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Parsons throwing strikes but missing. Parsons throwing strikes from guard but Maier blocks nicely. Parsons gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Maier tries to clinch but fails miserably and Parsons counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Parsons forces Maier back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parsons is defending well against a takedown attempt. Parsons is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Maier gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocco Parsons. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parsons goes for a takedown attempt but Maier pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Parsons fails with the takedown. Maier looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Danga de danga de dang - Maier scores with a four punch combination! Parsons shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maier as he jumps to the side. Maier throws a sloppy head kick and Parsons counters with a series of strikes. Maier will be more careful next time no doubt. Nice sprawl there from Maier as Parsons shoots in.

Parsons looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maier is fending him off so far but Parsons persists. Nope, Maier circles away and we're back to standing. Maier throws a sloppy head kick and Parsons moves out of range easily. Parsons showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maier.
Parsons shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maier but Maier pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rocco Parsons is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maier lands with a slapping head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parsons dives in for a single leg takedown but Maier sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Maier pushes Parsons up against the cage in a clinch. Maier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Daniel Maier seems to be getting the better of the standup. Parsons shoots in but no luck this time. Maier darts in and clinches Parsons up against the cage. Maier landing knees to the head.

Maier doesn't manage to clinch there - Parsons circles away.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Parsons is trying desperately to improve position. Maier misses with a head shot. Parsons knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maier on the ground. Maier tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Parsons avoids a series of strikes thrown by Maier.

Maier jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Parsons manages to avoid the submission attempt. Rocco Parsons has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Daniel Maier is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maier in side control, throwing shots but Parsons defends.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Maier comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Maier has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
