Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doyle Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Tyson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doyle Norris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tommy Tyson! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyson avoids the body shot from Norris.
Tyson with the counter takedown but Norris avoids it easily. Norris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tyson but Tyson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Norris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tyson tries to avoid it but Norris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tyson to the ground. Tyson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Norris misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tyson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Norris defends it well. Norris is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tyson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. And Tyson tries to counter it with a takedown but Norris pushes his down on his head and steps out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doyle Norris. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norris fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Norris shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tyson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Norris postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tyson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Norris, into his guard. Tyson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Tyson stopping the sweep attempt from Norris.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tyson sitting in guard here, content to control. Norris has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Tyson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Norris. Norris is looking to reverse the position. Tyson wants to control but Norris is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norris is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Tyson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Norris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Norris trying to get back to full guard but Tyson takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tyson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Norris is looking to escape. Norris is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Tyson trying to control but Norris is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Norris sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tommy Tyson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Norris fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Norris shoots in looking for a takedown. Tyson tries to sprawl out of it but Norris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tyson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Norris fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Tyson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doyle Norris. That's going to take a lot out of him. Norris lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tyson or not. Tyson throws an elbow but it misses.
Norris drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tyson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Norris is trying to push Tyson away but Tyson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Norris breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Norris really is a fat lump.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Norris misses with a low kick. And Tyson tries to counter it with a takedown but Norris pushes his down on his head and steps out. Norris looking to score a takedown here. Tyson is defending well but Norris drives through and ends up in Tyson's guard. Norris has gone for a leg lock! Tyson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Norris's guard. Tyson trying to control the position from guard on top but Norris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Doyle Norris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Norris throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norris keeping moving, preventing Tyson from controlling successfully. Tyson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Tyson checks a leg kick nicely. Tyson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Norris defends it well. Norris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tyson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Doyle Norris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tyson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tyson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Norris forces Tyson back against the cage and clinches. Norris tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Norris tries for a takedown. No joy.
Norris tries to break free but Tyson pushes him back against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Norris's face as he tries to break the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Norris lands a shot to the body. Norris is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Norris tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tyson smiles and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Doyle Norris dominated that second round. That's time! Norris's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Tyson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Norris.
Tyson with the counter takedown but Norris avoids it easily. Norris has closed the distance and engaged Tyson in a clinch.
Norris is leaning against Tyson and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Tyson is pressed up against the cage. Norris has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tyson down to the mat. Tyson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Norris shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tyson's guard. Tyson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Norris fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tyson on the side of the head. Tyson avoids the body shot from Norris.
Tyson slaps away a takedown attempt from Norris, before circling back to the center of the mat. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Norris fails to land the takedown. Tyson with the counter takedown but Norris avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doyle Norris. That's going to take a lot out of him. Norris connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tyson's hands. Norris misses with a straight left. Norris fails with the takedown. Tyson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Norris defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Norris misses with a wild body shot. Tommy Tyson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Norris gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Tyson keeps control of Norris as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Norris missing with knees to the body.
Norris wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Norris fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Tyson pushes off an throws an elbow but Norris leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Norris is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Norris blocks the elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Norris closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tyson circles away. Tyson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Norris dives in and grabs Tyson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tyson pushes down on Norris's head and hops out. Tyson feints the counter takedown. Norris throws a body shot but no joy. Norris instigates a clinch. Norris has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Tyson throws an elbow that misses.
Tyson looks to throw an elbow but misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Norris tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Tyson avoids it. Norris tries for a takedown. No joy.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Doyle Norris. Well Norris has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
