Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Beeboy Batongbakal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Beeboy Batongbakal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roman Pierce!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierce fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Batongbakal avoids it really well and circles away.
A quick step to the side and Batongbakal tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pierce throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Batongbakal's waist but Batongbakal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pierce off to one side.
Batongbakal definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Pierce has his takedown stuffed

and Batongbakal counters with a single leg into guard. Pierce didn't expect that.
Beeboy Batongbakal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roman Pierce.
Batongbakal advances to half guard.
Batongbakal keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Batongbakal's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Batongbakal is nestled in close to Pierce, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Batongbakal passes the guard and advances to mount!
Batongbakal takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pierce is wriggling around trying to escape.

Pierce is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pierce really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Batongbakal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Batongbakal controlling his opponent.
Pierce wants to control but Batongbakal is having none of it.
Batongbakal lands a couple of good shots and Pierce has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Batongbakal is working the ground and pound. Can Pierce escape?
Batongbakal has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Pierce's body.
Batongbakal scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Batongbakal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

You can see the frustration on Pierce's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Batongbakal just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Batongbakal punches Pierce on the ear.
Pierce is really stuck here.
Pierce is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Batongbakal slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Batongbakal has the hooks in. Pierce is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Batongbakal really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Pierce.
Batongbakal is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Pierce. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Batongbakal.
Pierce tries to escape the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Batongbakal is riding his opponent, not letting Pierce buck him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Beeboy Batongbakal dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Pierce shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Batongbakal defends it nicely.

Batongbakal remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Batongbakal has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pierce's face.

Batongbakal lands a big shot there that rocks Pierce but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Pierce tries to reverse the position but Batongbakal maintains control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pierce can do anything to dispel that myth.

Batongbakal tries to control but Pierce wriggling away.
Pierce can't escape the position.
Batongbakal cracks Pierce with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pierce is still in real trouble! Can Batongbakal finish him?
Pierce is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pierce takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Batongbakal's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
