Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Lewis! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Lewis tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson throws a quick counter head kick but Lewis was just out of range. Lewis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looks like Frank Jackson has been cut. Lewis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jackson was well out of range. Poor timing from Lewis. Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Lewis is trying to buck Jackson off. Lewis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jackson stands up and beckons Lewis to his feet. Lewis throws a series of strikes that have Jackson backpedaling.

Lewis throws a low kick, looking for Jackson's leg but Jackson calmly moves out of range. Lewis moves into range and clinches up with Jackson. Lewis misses with a knee to the head. Lewis wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jackson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lewis smiles and moves away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis wants to sweep but no luck. Jackson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lewis looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Lewis instigates a clinch. Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lewis misses with a kick to the body enabling Jackson to counter with a crisp jab. Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lewis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lewis manages to get to full guard.

Lewis wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jackson landing with the ground and pound. Lewis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Lewis is breathing heavily. Lewis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jackson landing some decent shots from guard. Jackson stands and steps away. Lewis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lewis is trying to keep an underhook but Jackson manages to get the takedown into half guard. Jackson winds up and cracks Lewis with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Lewis is looking for a sweep. Jackson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lewis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jackson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jackson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lewis can do to turn this around? Jackson seems to be looking for submissions.
Frank Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lewis wants to get back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jackson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Lewis to get to his feet.
