The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lanister lunges at MacKaye with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by MacKaye's hand.
A slow jab from Lanister misses its intended target.
Lanister scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Lanister slips a straight right by MacKaye.
Lanister was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
MacKaye tries to work over Lanister's front leg with a kick but Lanister checks it.
MacKaye misses with a hook.
MacKaye misses with a few strikes there.
Lanister cracks MacKaye with a right hand to the side of the head.
MacKaye misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lanister throws a right and a left that both miss.
MacKaye is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
MacKaye shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lanister as he jumps to the side.
Lanister dips to his left and cracks MacKaye with an uppercut!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lanister really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walter Lanister has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benton MacKaye.

Walter Lanister seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lanister lands a nice shot that snaps MacKaye's head back.

MacKaye tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lanister sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten MacKaye somewhat.

Lanister lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

MacKaye has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from MacKaye there as he acknowledges the shot.
