The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knope scores with a sloppy right hand. Lesner should have avoided that one.
It looks like Brock Lesner has been cut.
Knope closes the distance and clinches.
Lesner has Knope pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Knope manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lesner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
