Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Mizrahi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog's entrance music is Beat It. A fine choice. Donnie Mizrahi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Mizrahi forces Dog back against the ropes and clinches.

Dog working for a triangle but Mizrahi defends it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mizrahi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dog.

It looked like Dog was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Dog looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dog looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Mizrahi throws a lazy right hand but Dog sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dog tries to counter with a takedown but Mizrahi is quick to defend against it.

Dog went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Mizrahi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dog tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Crazy Dog. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mizrahi misses with the head strike.
Mizrahi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dog backwards.

Dog jumps guard but Mizrahi turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Dog throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mizrahi sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Dog tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mizrahi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dog somewhat.

Dog has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mizrahi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dog is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mizrahi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Mizrahi wants to get up but he can't break Dog's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
My spies in The Warehouse inform me that Mizrahi has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Dog throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dog sets himself, and Mizrahi steps forward looking for the clinch! Dog avoids it this time.
Dog ducks right into an uppercut from Mizrahi.

Mizrahi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dog momentarily.
Mizrahi looks to throw the jab but Dog is out of range.

Dog uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mizrahi.
A little feinted left hand from Dog on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

and Dog makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Dog dives in for a single leg takedown but Mizrahi sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dog throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mizrahi was covering up waiting for the punch and Dog finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Dog stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mizrahi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dog tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mizrahi thows a body kick. Dog tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Dog swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dog moves away from the strike by Mizrahi.
Dog's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mizrahi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dog scrambles back to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Crazy Dog.
I think Mizrahi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
