With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lorne Greenebaum!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Greenebaum misses with a right hand
and Smith counters with a straight right hand.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Greenebaum has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Greenebaum misses with a left hand
and Smith makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Greenebaum tries to move into range but Smith moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Greenebaum takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Smith was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Smith is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Greenebaum ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Smith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Greenebaum closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Smith lands a nice shot to the body.

and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Greenebaum.
Greenebaum is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smith.
Smith is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Greenebaum drives through and clinches with Smith against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Smith is struggling to control the position.

Smith has Greenebaum pushed against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Smith.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Smith for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by John Smith.

Greenebaum throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Smith throws a hook to the side of Greenebaum's head but Greenebaum sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Greenebaum changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Greenebaum is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Greenebaum throws a body punch but Smith moves out of range.
Smith connects with the punch.
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Smith is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Smith swings for the body but Greenebaum moves out of range.
Smith cracks Greenebaum with a good jab.
Smith dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith clobbers Greenebaum with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith wants to stand but Greenebaum is controlling the position.
Greenebaum passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sloppy strikes there by Greenebaum.
Smith is not content to let Greenebaum control the position.

Greenebaum has hold of Smith's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Smith seems comfortable defending it but Greenebaum has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Smith is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Smith is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Greenebaum couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lorne Greenebaum!
Lorne Greenebaum bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
