Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Musa Khamanaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shojo Shoujou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khamanaev comes to the cage accompanied by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera – Say Something remix. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Musa Khamanaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shojo Shoujou!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoujou throws a nice inside leg kick.
Shoujou misses with a double jab.
Khamanaev attempts a counter takedown but Shoujou avoids it well and moves away.
Shoujou shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Khamanaev eats them both and turns towards Shoujou to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Shoujou throws a head kick that misses.
Shoujou looks to land a combination. Khamanaev sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Shoujou scores with a one two! Khamanaev had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
We've been told by Khamanaev's head coaches at Body Pain_12elite_599$+VM that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Khamanaev blocks the body kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shoujou has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Shoujou misses with a series of wild punches.
Khamanaev appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Shoujou moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shoujou will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shoujou jabs at Khamanaev's body.
Shoujou lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Khamanaev backs up against the cage.
Shojo Shoujou is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Shoujou misses with a two punch combination.
Khamanaev slips a jab and a cross from Shoujou.
Khamanaev tries to counter with a takedown but Shoujou is quick to defend against it.
Khamanaev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shoujou.
Khamanaev sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A nice combination there by Shoujou.
Khamanaev blocks a head kick by Shoujou.

Shoujou is working the combinations to good effect here.
Shoujou throws a series of punches but Khamanaev moves out of range.
Khamanaev drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shoujou sprawls and moves away.

Khamanaev moves into the clinch successfully.

Khamanaev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shoujou's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shoujou is looking to stand up but Khamanaev isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khamanaev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Khamanaev prevents Shoujou from getting back to his feet.
Shoujou being controlled here, momentarily.
Khamanaev has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Shoujou really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khamanaev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shoujou is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shoujou misses with a low kick as Khamanaev jumps back.

Khamanaev fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shoujou to the ground. Khamanaev is now in Shoujou's guard.
Khamanaev trying to control the position from guard on top but Shoujou is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Khamanaev slips nicely into half guard.
Khamanaev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shoujou does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Khamanaev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Khamanaev wants to control but Shoujou is keeping him busy.

Khamanaev is working for a kimura but Shoujou is defending it quite comfortably.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shoujou can do anything to dispel that myth.
Khamanaev wants to pass to mount but Shoujou is defending the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shoujou is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shojo Shoujou dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Shoujou lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khamanaev circles away quickly and effectively.
Khamanaev drops down looking for a counter takedown but Shoujou sprawls and moves away.
Shoujou throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shojo Shoujou seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Shoujou throws a right and a left that Khamanaev avoids nicely.
Khamanaev avoids a punch combination nicely.
Shoujou throws a nice looking combination but Khamanaev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Khamanaev is looking to chop away at Shoujou's legs.
Shoujou lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khamanaev circles away quickly and effectively.
Shoujou throws a right and a left that Khamanaev avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shoujou throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Khamanaev.
Shoujou throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

so Khamanaev counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Khamanaev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Khamanaev drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Khamanaev as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Shoujou screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Khamanaev! Nice submission victory there!

Musa Khamanaev really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that GREEN!160 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
