Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josiah Wilkerson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antonio Loko! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Loko lands with an overhand left. Wilkerson dodges the punch combination from Loko.
Loko misses with a wild body shot. Wilkerson is looking for a counter combo. Loko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Loko throws a right and a left that both miss. Loko lands a jab to the nose. Wilkerson shoots in looking for a takedown. Loko tries to sprawl out of it but Wilkerson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Loko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big left from Loko misses. It looked like Wilkerson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Loko gets in close and instigates a clinch. Wilkerson misses with a hook from the clinch. Wilkerson is looking to break free of the clinch but Loko has double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Loko pushes Wilkerson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Wilkerson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Loko is defending well. Loko cracks Wilkerson with a nice body shot. Wilkerson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Loko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Loko lands a jab to Wilkerson's midsection. Loko takes the fight into the clinch. Loko throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Loko manages to break the clinch.
Loko forces Wilkerson back against the cage and clinches. Loko tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Loko lands a nice shot to the body. Wilkerson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Loko is defending well for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Loko lands on the inside with an uppercut. Loko looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Loko gets underhooks to prevent Wilkerson's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josiah Wilkerson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilkerson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Loko takes the fight into the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wilkerson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Loko just stands there and leans against the cage. Loko scores with an uppercut up the middle. Loko lands a right hand that snaps the head of Wilkerson backwards. Loko lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Wilkerson. Loko wants to break free but Wilkerson has control.
Loko breaks the clinch.
Loko clinches. Loko wants to get back to striking at distance but Wilkerson won't allow it.
Loko misses with an elbow strike.
Loko wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilkerson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Wilkerson looking to slow down the pace here. Loko is pressed up against the cage. Wilkerson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Loko down to the mat. Loko avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Loko rushes Wilkerson and presses him up against the cage. Loko lands a body punch in the clinch. A shot in the inside from Loko.
Wilkerson is rocked! Wilkerson is breathing heavily. Loko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Oh Wilkerson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Loko closes the distance and clinches. Loko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Loko throws an overhand right that has Wilkerson reeling! Loko follows up with more punches and Wilkerson is out cold! This one is all over!
