Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Fjera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Merkan Killmaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Killmaz has chosen Black Blade as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Fjera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Merkan Killmaz! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Killmaz lands a high kick!
It looks like Nick Fjera has been cut. Nice cross by Fjera. Killmaz wants to land a leg kick but Fjera is out of range. Killmaz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fjera ducks under a wild hook from Killmaz. Killmaz connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Fjera connects with a single shot there. Killmaz scores with a jab to the jaw. Fjera dips to his left and cracks Killmaz with an uppercut! Fjera with a hook. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fjera tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Killmaz does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Killmaz on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Killmaz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Merkan Killmaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Killmaz looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Killmaz stuffs the takedown attempt from Fjera. Fjera gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Killmaz takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Fjera has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Nice defenses there by Fjera. Fjera throwing a counter right hand but Killmaz manages to avoid it. Killmaz throws a hook but Fjera avoids it easily. Fjera looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Despite the aggression on Killmaz's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. A good leg kick by Fjera. Fjera takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Killmaz lands a really nice looking cross but Fjera seems unphased.
Fjera has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Killmaz. Fjera checks a low kick from Killmaz. Killmaz lands a glancing blow to the side of Fjera's head. Killmaz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Fjera takes one on the button.
Nick Fjera's cut is getting worse.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Killmaz misses with a hook
and Fjera counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Killmaz tries to roll over but Fjera keeps him under control. Fjera is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Killmaz has managed to free his arm - good work. Killmaz keeping hold of Fjera's head, controlling as best he can. Fjera throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Killmaz won't allow Fjera to pass to mount. Fjera uses his free foot to push down on Killmaz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Killmaz. Killmaz sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Killmaz manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fjera content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Killmaz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fjera manages to get himself to full guard.
Killmaz connects with a couple of short punches. Fjera looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Killmaz is defending well. Fjera quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Killmaz has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Fjera celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nick Fjera! An out of breath Nick Fjera thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
