The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalev fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Saunders manages to avoid it.
Kovalev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Saunders changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Saunders defending well as Kovalev loads up on a big left hand.
Saunders went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A combination from Kovalev does no damage.

Oooooh!!! Kovalev has knocked Saunders down with a huge combo! Kovalev steps away and waves a wobbly Saunders back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Saunders is rocked!

It looks like Johnathon Saunders has been cut.
Kovalev is stalking Saunders. Saunders circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Kovalev, and it's lights out! Saunders really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
