And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew McGinn!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fretwell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
It looked like Fretwell was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

McGinn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Fretwell has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
McGinn lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Fretwell blocks an elbow strike from McGinn.
McGinn with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
McGinn tries to work over Fretwell's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Fretwell throws a head punch that misses.

McGinn throws an elbow but it's blocked.
McGinn misses with a knee strike.
Fretwell tries for a takedown but McGinn manages to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fretwell is looking to control McGinn's arms but McGinn gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fretwell has his back to the cage.
Fretwell wants to get back to striking at distance but McGinn won't allow it.
McGinn tries to land a knee to the head but Fretwell blocks with his arms.
McGinn tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Fretwell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McGinn tries to close the distance and clinch but Fretwell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McGinn has closed the distance and engaged Fretwell in a clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by McGinn.
McGinn lands a knee to the head.

Fretwell jumps guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fretwell looking to hit a scissor sweep but McGinn is one step ahead there.
Fretwell keeping moving, preventing McGinn from controlling successfully.

Fretwell has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. McGinn doesn't defend quickly enough and Fretwell has managed to lock this one up! Can McGinn escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Fretwell on a fantastic submission victory.
