Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Genaro Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Pyzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Pyzon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Genaro Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Pyzon!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burke checks a leg kick.

Pyzon darts in and clinches Burke up against the cage.
Pyzon's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Pyzon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Burke avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Pyzon slows down the pace here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burke goes for a takedown attempt but Pyzon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Burke looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Burke slips under a jab.
Burke takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Burke shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pyzon as he avoids it easily.
No luck for Burke with that takedown attempt.

Pyzon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pyzon throws a head punch that misses.

A bit of stalling here from Pyzon.

Pyzon is looking for a takedown.

Pyzon has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Burke clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pyzon doesn't have the hooks in and Burke manages to turn into his guard.

Burke drops back looking for a leg! Pyzon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pyzon manages to kick Burke off! Burke jumps back into Pyzon's guard.
Pyzon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pyzon has a closed guard, preventing Burke from standing up.
Burke controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Burke tries to stand but Pyzon is controlling from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Burke darts in looking for a takedown but Pyzon gets double underhooks and turns Burke into the cage.
Burke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pyzon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pyzon loads up on a big right hand but Burke slips the punch.
Pyzon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Burke checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Burke will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pyzon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Burke drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pyzon gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pyzon trying to stall but Burke improves his position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Pyzon is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Pyzon has had enough of the clinch but Burke keeps him there for the moment.
Pyzon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Burke pulls Pyzon into guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Burke seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Burke doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Burke thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Burke throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Pyzon connects with a couple of short punches.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

As Burke backs off Pyzon throws a huge counter combo but Burke manages to avoid it all.

Pyzon drives through and clinches with Burke against the cage.

Pyzon lands a good knee to the midsection. Burke won't want to take too many of those.

Mike Pyzon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Burke takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Burke wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pyzon, who protects the arm well.
Pyzon is looking to regain half guard here but Burke keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

A lazy left from Pyzon finds it's target.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
No joy there for Pyzon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pyzon throws a series of strikes that have Burke backpedaling.
Genaro Burke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mike Pyzon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.


It looks like Genaro Burke has been cut.
Mike Pyzon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burke.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Pyzon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Pyzon winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
