Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Davey Linster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Kowalczyk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcin Kowalczyk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Davey Linster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcin Kowalczyk! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Linster swats away the attempt to clinch by Kowalczyk. Linster digs a good hook to Kowalczyk's body.
Kowalczyk tries to clinch up but Linster circles away and keeps his distance. Kowalczyk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Linster paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kowalczyk throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Davey Linster has been cut. Linster tries to bum rush Kowalczyk with a series of wild strikes but Kowalczyk uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Linster definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Kowalczyk pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Linster avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Linster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kowalczyk as he avoids it easily. Kowalczyk appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Kowalczyk moves in looking to clinch but Linster pushes him off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Linster closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Linster tries to pull guard but Kowalczyk holds him up against the cage and eventually Linster drops back down to his feet.
Linster is breathing heavily. Kowalczyk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalczyk gets in close and instigates a clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Kowalczyk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Linster paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kowalczyk rushes Linster and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kowalczyk breaks the clinch.
Kowalczyk tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Linster manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kowalczyk tries to clinch but Linster moves out of range. Kowalczyk moves into range and clinches up with Linster. A nice glancing elbow lands by Kowalczyk. Linster is trying to pull guard but Kowalczyk has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Davey Linster. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kowalczyk has Linster pushed against the cage. Kowalczyk is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Kowalczyk continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. A nice left hand lands by Linster.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kowalczyk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kowalczyk darts in and clinches Linster up against the cage. Linster is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Linster tries to break free but Kowalczyk pushes him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalczyk prevents the takedown attempt.

Linster throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk is looking to clinch but Linster is avoiding it.
Kowalczyk closes the distance and clinches. Linster is trying to pull guard but Kowalczyk has him pressed against the cage. Kowalczyk breaks from the clinch.
Linster chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kowalczyk can pounce on him.
Kowalczyk drives through and clinches with Linster against the cage.
Kowalczyk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice cross by Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Linster doesn't manage to clinch there - Kowalczyk circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Linster.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kowalczyk connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Linster swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kowalczyk cracks the inside of Linster's front leg. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kowalczyk moves into the clinch. Kowalczyk breaks from the clinch.
Kowalczyk scores with a body shot.
Kowalczyk thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Linster if he has to take too many more of those.
Kowalczyk closes the distance and pushes Linster back into the cage. Kowalczyk manages to break the clinch.
Linster on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk obviously looking to wear him down.
Kowalczyk throws a quick head kick that knocks Linster silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Kowalczyk is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Marcin Kowalczyk!
