PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Flavius Odoacer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antoni Kristofer Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Odoacer comes to the cage accompanied by Entrance of the Gladiator. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Flavius Odoacer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antoni Kristofer Hong!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Odoacer scores with a takedown into Hong's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Odoacer is working away from the top position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Odoacer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Odoacer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Odoacer wants to sweep but Hong has passed to side control!
Hong is looking to take a break and control but Odoacer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Odoacer is looking to regain half guard here but Hong keeps moving and retains side control.

Hong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Odoacer throws out the jab.
Hong throws an overhand right that lands on Odoacer's shoulder, as Odoacer tries to avoid the shot.

Hong looks to land a combination but Odoacer avoids it well.

Hong pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Odoacer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hong can do to turn this around?

Hong shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Odoacer sprawls well. Odoacer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hong gets slowly back to his feet.

Odoacer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Odoacer is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
The fight stays on the outside here - Odoacer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hong drops Odoacer with a straight right hand, right on the button! Hong follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Antoni Kristofer Hong!
Antoni Kristofer Hong decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Flavius Odoacer spoke after the fight, saying 'Harrumph! A minor setback on my path to the throne.'.
