Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marco Polo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marco Polo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Brandao! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good work by Brandao as he checks the leg kick. Brandao bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Brandao looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Polo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brandao.
It looked like Polo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Polo throws a low kick but Brandao moves out of range easily. A punch combination from Brandao misses. Polo swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandao throws a hook but Polo blocks it. A head kick misses from Polo. Brandao takes a swing at Polo's ribcage but misses. Polo looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandao throws a hook but Polo avoids it easily. Polo throws a quick counter head kick but Brandao was just out of range. Brandao takes the fight into the clinch. Polo working hard to break the clinch. Polo is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Polo tries to land knees in the clinch but Brandao avoids the damage to the body. Polo tries to stall but Brandao uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A shot in the inside from Polo. A head punch on the inside from Polo fails to land. Brandao presses Polo against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Brandao lands a left hand that snaps the head of Polo backwards. Polo taking a breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Polo misses with a punch to the body.
Brandao misses with a punch on the inside.
Polo misses with a hook from the clinch. Brandao lands with a left to the head. Polo looking to stall.
Brandao working some nice short punches in the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Polo takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Brandao lands with a right to the head. Polo trying to control the position but instead, Brandao has worked for underhooks and has pushed Polo into the cage. Brandao lands with a short head shot on the inside. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brandao working aggressively here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Brandao lands with a right to the head. Polo is trying to push Brandao away but Brandao has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. A right hook to the body lands for Brandao.

Polo tries to stall but Brandao uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Polo is trying to maintain a safe position but Brandao gets an underhook and turns Polo into the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Polo can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. Brandao lands with a light punch inside. Brandao lands a right hand that snaps the head of Polo backwards. Brandao lands a left hand that snaps the head of Polo backwards.
Polo is rocked! Brandao lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Oh Polo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Brandao creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Polo's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Polo drops to his knees and Brandao pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Brandao!
