Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Steven Oliver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldo Gyeong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Oliver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aldo Gyeong! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gyeong avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gyeong throws a half hearted mid kick. Gyeong will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. It looked like Oliver wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Gyeong dives in for a single leg takedown but Oliver sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Oliver tries to clinch there but Gyeong circles away.
Gyeong tries to counter with a clinch but Oliver shakes him off and moves away. Oliver fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gyeong avoids the head kick by Oliver.
Gyeong now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Gyeong drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gyeong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gyeong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oliver keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oliver manages to get back to half guard. Oliver is trying to get back to full guard. Oliver has hold of Gyeong's hands but Gyeong slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Gyeong looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Oliver gets back to full guard.

Oliver can't keep his opponent in guard - Gyeong advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gyeong slips a nice elbow through Oliver's hands, connecting with Oliver's forehead. Oliver won't allow Gyeong to pass to mount. Oliver wants to get back to full guard but Gyeong has passed into side control. Oliver seems a little lost for a moment, as Gyeong dominates the positioning. Oliver is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Oliver is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliver is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Gyeong is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Gyeong working for a guillotine from mount but Oliver is in no mood to give up. Oliver keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gyeong wants to stand but Oliver is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Gyeong pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Gyeong working for a submission but Oliver is keeping him at bay. Gyeong is looking to stand but Oliver has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gyeong controlling from the full mount. Oliver tries to reverse the position but Gyeong maintains control. Gyeong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! It looks like Gyeong might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aldo Gyeong dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Gyeong tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Oliver defends well and Gyeong ends up having to push Oliver into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Gyeong has his takedown stuffed and Oliver holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Oliver is trying to pull guard but Gyeong has him pressed against the cage. Oliver decides to pull guard. Gyeong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Oliver is keeping the position for now. Gyeong is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oliver is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gyeong wants to stand but Oliver has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gyeong seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gyeong has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Oliver wants to control the position but Gyeong says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Aldo Gyeong has got the better of the ground game so far. Oliver on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Gyeong is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Oliver is trying to get back to full guard. Gyeong seems to be working for a kimura but Oliver defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Oliver is in trouble now - Gyeong has advanced to mount! Gyeong lands a couple of good shots and Oliver has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Oliver is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Oliver is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gyeong is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Gyeong controlling the positon. Oliver wants to get back to his feet. Oliver is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gyeong gets his way!
Oliver rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oliver is looking to get back to full guard here but Gyeong has managed to pass to side control instead. Gyeong tries to move to mount but Oliver blocks the move with his legs. Oliver is looking for a sweep. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gyeong is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aldo Gyeong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Gyeong tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Aldo Gyeong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oliver throws the kick towards the body but Gyeong avoids it. Oliver tries to clinch there but Gyeong circles away.
Oliver tries to clinch up but Gyeong circles away and keeps his distance. Gyeong throws a head kick that misses. Gyeong drives through with a takedown into guard. Gyeong preventing the sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gyeong content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gyeong postures up and lands a big shot to Oliver's brow. Oliver keeping full guard, as Gyeong tries to pass. Oliver will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Oliver throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gyeong uses it to pass to side control.
Oliver is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Oliver takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oliver trying to remain calm as Gyeong controls from the top position. Gyeong tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Gyeong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Oliver, who protects the arm well. Gyeong working the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliver throws Gyeong to one side and escapes! Gyeong feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Oliver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gyeong doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gyeong manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Oliver tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gyeong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gyeong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gyeong works a leg free and moves into half guard. Gyeong landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Gyeong looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Oliver is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gyeong with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Steven Oliver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Aldo Gyeong is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Oliver is looking to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Aldo Gyeong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Gyeong winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
